Ricercare
This is a post that I shall come back to again and again to unpack and understand the ricercare better.
Right now though, let's just look at the etymology of the word.
Ricercare is cited as meaning to 'seek out' (look for with effort) or 'seek again'. Obviously related to the French 'chercher' which itself came from from Latin circare "go about, wander, traverse."
