Posture and lute playing

I came across this photo of me playing the lute at a little study recital recently and it struck me how hunched over I seem to be. I was playing Da Milano here and his music usually fills me with emotion.

My teacher often emphasises taking the time necessary to get ready mentally and musically before performing a piece. Looking at this photo I know it also means I should be corporeally prepared too. I was playing Francesco da Milano here and his music fills me with much emotion. Looking at the photo though you would think I was afraid of the notes on the page, hunched over like that.

A lesson to prepare the music stand better I guess.
